Sharing Lockdown Day 4

Lazy Sunday… Haha

Our goal of planting two waratah widths with Tussocks was achieved today and we are now starting to get into a rhythm and have learn’t to soak the tussocks so they split more easily. I know the photo doesnt look any different from the day before but it is !!!

This sort of day is why I cook more than we need and then use the rest for a meal that involves little preparation.

My sister in law Julie arranged a Zoom session with my brother Brian, sister Wendy and brother in law Peter. It was my first experience and it worked really well . We all had a glass of wine and finger food – Philip opened a very nice Moet and I pureed the left over roasted beetroot salad with yogurt and we dipped in cubes of toast. We enjoyed it so much we organised another session with our own children later in the night. But not another Moet!

Technology is making our lives easier in this surreal world of isolation. Face timing our little grandchildren during their dinner times is hilarious, their funny waves and kisses through mucky foodie faces is a delight. Sending photos to your family is wonderful way of staying in touch.

Dinner was easy for us : Soft Taco’s from the freezer, filled with the remaining two slices of pork belly that we ate two days ago and filled with tomato, lettuce and avocado.

Our first weekend. Your first weekend. We just have to suck it up and get on the best we can, involving everyone in the kitchen is a given . Preparing, cooking and eating together is fundamental and I hope you can make it fun and fulfilling.

XXX Stay Well and Good luck.
