Pinot Noir for Lunch

7

Late last year Tim Kerruish the owner of Folding Hill Vineyard in Bendigo, Central Otago asked me  if I would cater for a lunch !! He was chosen to provide a lunch as part of the 2016 Pinot Noir Conference  where delegates would taste several wines of the region including Carrick , Mt Maude  Surveyor Thompson and Folding Hill .

We planned an outdoor smart picnic using produce from the region, Butterflied legs of lamb ( Tim’s Sheep), local koura and the biggest fattest Cherries I have ever eaten .

After a week of cloudy rather chilly summer weather, the sun came out and produced a typical hot Central Otago day.

Transforming a marquee topped shade tent was fun and white linen, cutlery, large wine glasses and French pots filled with wild flowers changed the atmosphere and we were ready to tell our story.

Simplicity, great flavours and an uncomplicated menu made our lunch a huge success. Creating an event with such lovely people was a treat and I got to work with the best in the business.

Its remarkable how attention to detail and a vision can turn into a satisfying memorable event  and where hopefully our over seas visitors and locals can say ‘WOW’
